Playmatic

Privacy policy

Last updated 28 July 2026

Playmatic collects nothing. No accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics, no third-party trackers, and no way for anyone to contact your child through the app. Nothing your child does in Playmatic is sent anywhere.

Playmatic is a toy app for children aged roughly three to five: a shelf of drawn appliances and small games. This policy explains what the app stores, what little leaves the device, and why.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you or your child. There is no account to create, no name or age to enter, no email address, no contact list, no location, no camera or microphone access, and no advertising identifier.

What the app saves on your device

So that the app remembers how your child likes to play, Playmatic saves a small amount of information in its own private storage on the device:

  • Settings — sound on or off, volume levels, chosen color theme, and timing speed.
  • Play choices — for example which food was last put in the microwave, or which color car was chosen.
  • The play tally — how long each toy has been open and how many times, so the app can show you that summary in the grown-ups' settings.
  • The play timer — the daily limit you set, and how much of today's time has been used.

All of this stays on the device. It is never uploaded, never shared, and contains no identifier of any kind — just toy names, numbers, and durations. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling Playmatic removes it permanently. There is no backup or sync, so it does not follow you to another device.

What leaves the device

Two things, neither of which involves your child's information:

  • Checking for app updates.When Playmatic starts, it asks our update service (operated by Expo) whether a newer version of the app is available. Like any request over the internet, that request carries your device's IP address and the app and operating-system version. It is used only to serve the correct update file. No account, profile, or identifier is attached to it, and nothing about your child's play is included.
  • Purchases.If you buy the one-off unlock that opens the rest of the toys, that transaction is handled entirely by the Google Play Store. We never see or receive your name, payment card, or billing address. The app is told only whether the unlock has been purchased on the device's Play account. Google's handling of that payment is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Children's privacy

Playmatic is designed and built for young children, and is intended to be used by a child with a grown-up nearby. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either. Specifically, Playmatic contains:

  • no advertising of any kind, and no advertising SDK;
  • no analytics or behavioral tracking;
  • no social features, chat, messaging, user-generated content sharing, or any other way for a child to reach a stranger;
  • no web browsing, and no links out of the app on any screen a child sees.

The only purchase in the app sits behind a parental gate on a grown-ups' screen — a short sequence a young child is not expected to complete — so a child cannot reach it on their own.

We believe this approach meets the requirements of the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Google Play Families policy, and the UK and EU rules on children's data, for the simple reason that there is no data to govern.

Permissions

Playmatic requests no sensitive Android permissions. It does not ask for the camera, the microphone, your location, your contacts, or access to your photos or files. It uses network access only for the update check and purchase described above.

Data sharing and selling

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose personal information to anyone, because we do not have any. There is no third party with whom we could share it.

Your rights

Because Playmatic holds no personal data on any server, there is nothing for us to look up, export, correct, or delete on request. Everything the app has saved lives on your own device and is under your control: clearing the app's data or uninstalling it erases all of it.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what the app stores or transmits, we will update this page and change the date at the top before the change ships. If a change ever meant collecting personal information — which we have no plans to do — we would ask for a grown-up's consent first.
